PRAR

About

PRAR is a non-profit research association based in Basel, Switzerland. It studies the psychology of human morality and rationality, including how these relate to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Its work is oriented toward research that can help improve the world as much as possible, in line with the ideas of effective altruism.

Research

PRAR conducts and supports research, both academic and non-academic, which is made available to the public through academic journals, reports, and other publications. The work is primarily in experimental psychology, and also draws on philosophy, economics, and computer science.

Other activities

Alongside research, PRAR engages in field-building, outreach, and external engagement. It develops and supports practical initiatives — educational resources, platforms, and tools — that help people apply these ideas, and it supports projects and organizations pursuing related aims.
